In the fields of fine art, craft, and wellness, we curate a wide range of creative experiences. Guided by skilled instructors, these hands-on workshops welcome beginners through intermediate creatives, offering opportunities to explore new approaches, deepen existing skills, and engage in meaningful creative journeys.

A place where creativity is honoured and time slows

Stone Manor Studios is located on a quiet corner in the heart of Newboro, set within a beautifully preserved 1860s manor estate. The Studios are surrounded by some of the region’s most treasured experiences, including the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic Newboro Blockhouse, charming local accommodations, and the much- loved Kilborn’s shopping experience. Just minutes from Westport, the area is serene, historic, and feels gently suspended in time.

No prior experience is required, only curiosity and a desire to create. Each thoughtfully hosted experience offers a welcoming, supportive environment.

Programming at Stone Manor Studios follows a thematic, seasonal rhythm that reflects both the creative process and the natural landscape of Rideau Lakes. Each season offers a distinct invitation, allowing creatives to return throughout the year for new experiences shaped by time, place, and intention.

Daffodil Days, A Celebration of Creativity

Spring arrives with Daffodil Days, a signature season celebrating renewal, colour, and creative energy. Aligned with Rideau Lakes’ identity as the Daffodil Capital of Ontario, this period features workshops and experiences inspired by growth, new beginnings, and joyful making, inviting creatives to reconnect with creativity as the landscape comes alive.

Summer Workshops and Creative Retreats

Summer programming focuses on immersive workshops and multi-day creative retreats. These experiences offer dedicated time for deep exploration across fine art and craft disciplines, guided by accomplished instructors. Select retreats are offered in partnership with The Poplars Resort, welcoming up to twelve participants for an all-inclusive weekend getaway that blends creative practice, shared meals, beautiful accommodations, and the ease of having every detail thoughtfully arranged.

Handmade for the Holidays

As the year draws to a close, Handmade for the Holidays invites creatives into a season of making with intention. Workshops during this time focus on craft, gifting, and slowing down through hands-on creation, offering a meaningful alternative to the rush of the holiday season.

Rideau Lakes Studio Tour

Stone Manor Studios is proud to be a participating site on the Rideau Lakes Studio Tour. As part of this long-standing regional celebration of art and craft, the Studios welcome visitors during the Tour to experience the historic setting, meet artists, and gain insight into the creative journeys that unfold here throughout the year.

Stone Manor Studios was founded by Kim Lulashnyk, a lifelong creative, arts advocate, and community builder with a deep belief in the power of creativity to restore, connect, and inspire. With a background rooted in fine art, craft, education, and heritage, Kim envisioned Stone Manor Studios as a place where creativity is experienced as a journey rather than a product. Her mission is to offer thoughtfully curated creative experiences led by skilled instructors, set within a historic manor environment that encourages slowing down, exploration, and meaningful connection.
